During COVID, NIGP developed an Institute Calendar which ensured continued educational opportunities through virtual courses amidst the global pandemic. In FY24, NIGP is expanding their offering to ensure the entire Pathways Portfolio is available annually so all competency modules are accessible in a virtual format. Creating the annual calendar provides for:
- More intentionality in scheduling courses so entities, chapters, and learners can plan and budget professional development well in advance.
- Aligning the calendar to career planning made available through the Concierge Program or individual / entity career planning which is essential for addressing talent shortages at the entry level as well as the leadership level.
- Accessto the Pathways Portfolio regardless of whether the learner is affiliated with a NIGP Chapter affiliate.
Affordability
NIGP are aware that professional development budgets continue to be tight, and they are working hard to keep costs low. For FY24, NIGP will:
- Offer a new 20% discount on all course registrations for Institute members who enroll in courses 60+ days in advance of the course start date. This is a great incentive to encourage members to plan their learning paths and register early. Additionally, chapters can take advantage of this savings when hosting their own courses.
- Offer lower, consistent pricing for virtual and in-person courses.
NIGP’s New Learning Giveback Program
NIGP’s new Learning Giveback Program is an expansion of their existing Chapter Rebate. Beginning July 1, 2023, all chapters will earn 5% for each person who designates their chapter when registering for an NIGP course. It is important for chapter members to select their chapter from a dropdown box when registering online. Alternatively, members should write the chapter name on any form submitted for registration. To keep direct costs low, NIGP has raised course minimum targets to 12 students.
Chapter In-Person Partnership Pilot
NIGP also feel it is important for members to have access to in-person learning opportunities. This year, NIGP is looking to partner with chapters to deliver more courses in-person. They envision these to be 2-3 day focused events where NIGP will bring their top classes and instructors to locations throughout North America. NIGP will coordinate most of the logistics and bring in breakfast and lunch. In turn, the chapter would provide an onsite local host and location.
NIGP hopes you share their excitement for the upcoming year and the opportunities to advance learning in new ways. Happy Learning!
