2026 NIGP Forum in Columbus, Ohio

Something awesome is on the horizon for Columbus, you won’t want to miss it. The NIGP Forum 2026 provides an opportunity to connect with amazing people, attend workshops to learn cool new things, this event has something for everyone. While we’re still ironing out details you can help with shaping this unforgettable event.


CO-OPP's Activities for the 2026 NIGP Forum

  • For the 2025 NIGP Forum in Denver - CO-OPP is responsible for a booth promoting the 2026 NIGP Forum with optional giveaways and promotional materials. "Experience Columbus" plan to have a representative travel to Denver to help with CO-OPP’s promotional efforts. Experience Columbus may be able to assist with giveaways and promotional materials.
  • For the 2026 NIGP Forum in Columbus - CO-OPP will be responsible for making location recommendations for the social event. The venue should accommodate at least 1,200 people. Additionally, CO-OPP is encouraged to identify a community service or charity event to support.
  • Volunteers will be needed for an effective Forum planning committee.

As we gear up for the NIGP Forum 2026 in Columbus, CO-OPP will be planning and helping with various activities for forum attendees. Volunteers are needed to make the Columbus NIGP Forum a success.

Core Group• NIGP sets aside discounted rates for 25 volunteers.
        Volunteer Coordinator
        Uses smart sheet and is gate keeper of the discount fees.
• Chapter Identifiers (shirts, aprons, hats, etc. for volunteers).
• Tap into suppliers for donations.
• Promotes attendance to local agencies and chapter members.
• Local Planning Committee booth should be set up on Saturday.


Denver 2025 Forum - Columbus Promotion• Any giveaways at Local Planning Committee booth or for promoting Columbus at the Denver Forum is the Chapter’s responsibility.
        Chapter can put a Columbus spin on it a Columbus focus for signage (start in April 2026) April 2025 to add spin on for Denver.

• Convention Center may have a great influence in assistance for promotional materials 
        Traveling to Denver to help promote Columbus at our booth.
        Several promotional items to include with giveaways at Denver and Columbus:
                Buckeye promotional items
                Things to do in Columbus
                Map with barcodes of restaurants/entertainment
                Coasters with Experience Columbus
                Has a list of items, depending on theme, flare desired


Social Event Location Recommendations (August 23 or 24)• Search for venues that can accommodate approximately 1,200 people (Sunday or Monday).
        Convention Center/Experience Columbus will help promote Columbus. They can identify locations and facilitate them.
        The amount budgeted for the social event is available January 2026, which is divided by Rental, Food, Entertainment.
        Volunteers will mostly be for social event (15-25 really dedicated and immersed into the event).
• Recommendations for VIP Event
        Great restaurant for 100 people for one evening (Mon-Tues, 2 hours).
                Food, drinks, private room, museum, for a VIP social-type event.

        


Community Service Activity | Charity Support Recommendations• Recommend local charities with whom NIGP can partner with to conduct a service activity, drive, or something similar to assist the local   
        community with donations.
• Contact local communities and charities that can contribute
        The Chapter gets a budget to create an event that will involve members. A type of onsite activities for local schools or charitable
           organizations within the community such as a bag  stuffing event, collection drive, or other ideas where several people can volunteer
           an hour or two participating, contributing to community needs.
        Most popular was a virtual food drive made into a competitive event in Louisville; the Chapter donating the most, won prizes.


Optional Activities (Tuesday)• Research potential after-hour activities for attendees to participate in (i.e., baseball game, stadium tour, escape rooms, etc.).
        Some activities that are unique to Columbus.
